Doing business – the Fair Way.

With a passion for cars, automotive insurance experience and a goal of total customer satisfaction, Mike and Jane Lund founded their automotive collision repair business nearly 40 years ago. The couple distinguished their shop from others with a lifetime warranty, efficient repair, and direct relationships with automotive insurance companies – all backed by honesty, integrity and professionalism.

Mike and Jane located their business in a 5,000 square-foot former beer warehouse on five acres of land in Vadnais Heights, a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. The business had two employees, a dirt floor and a three-hole golf course that inspired its name and philosophy: Fairway Collision Center – doing business the “Fair Way.”

Building lasting relationships

Mike and Jane believed that “The customer is always right.” And they did whatever it took to make the customer happy. Fairway offered “loaners,” utilized the latest technology and products to enhance efficiency and quality, and was among the first to provide computerized estimates.

While Mike worked on the shop side, Jane did the company’s marketing and ran the office. Both nurtured relationships with the insurance industry by holding continuing education programs to help agents maintain their licenses.

 They also became actively involved in industry associations and issues, meeting with other shops and exchanging ideas. Mike served as president of the Automotive Service Association, and became a member of both the 3M and Dupont industry advisory boards.

The next generation – the next level.

As the industry evolved, Fairway expanded and has become a single-source for collision and automotive repair, handling all insurance claims, offering free vehicle pickup and delivery, loaner vehicles, and premier service delivered by a highly trained and experienced team supported by the latest technology.

Fairway’s “home” has grown to 23,500 square feet and the company has more than 30 dedicated employees – three of whom are second generation Lunds. Kevin is general manager, Cary is sales manager and Pam Caruth is the office manager. The trio has hands-on experience in all aspects of the business. They remain committed to operating “the Fair Way,” and to the continuous improvement that leads to flawless quality and complete customer satisfaction.
